The lips lose their natural contour and fullness as we age and our levels of collagen and soft tissue begin to deplete. Glosses and lip balms can make the lips seem more thick, but this is temporary and doesn’t actually address the root cause. Dermal fillers have also become a popular way of dealing with this cosmetic concern but can require multiple sessions to be administered, with results that are often unpredictable.
Transformations Plastic Surgery carries a more effective way to address this concern with Permalip®, a lip augmentation treatment that can make the lips full and natural looking in a way that is long lasting.
If you’ve been looking for an effective and convenient way to treat thin lips, contact our office in Rockford, ask about Permalip® and discover if it could be the treatment to meet your needs.
What is Permalip®? How Does It Work?
Permalip® involves a small incision being made into the side of your mouth so that a small silicon pad can be inserted into the top and/or bottom lip. The patient will typically be conscious for the procedure but an anesthetic will be used to numb the area and increase the patient’s comfort. The treatment should take a half hour to be completed in most cases. Minor swelling might occur afterwards but should subside within a few days to a week.
Patients will typically be able to return home to rest after the treatment has been completed. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least a few days following the procedure.
Why Choose Permalip®?
Unlike dermal fillers, Permalip® doesn’t require multiple visits to the office in order to be efficient, just one should be enough to give long lasting results. The size of the silicon implant used for Permalip® is also adjustable, meaning that a patient can tailor the treatment to meet their specific cosmetic goals.
Despite being called Permalip®, this treatment is also completely reversible in case you end up being unsatisfied with the results.
Am I Candidate For Permalip®?
The only way to determine if you are a suitable candidate for this procedure is by scheduling a consultation with one of our practitioners. This consultation will involve the discussion of your medical history and goals for the treatment with the practitioner so that they can see if they mesh with the treatment. If the practitioner finds that you have a condition that prohibits you from getting Permalip®, they will happily go over potential alternatives.
